Mr. James Eugene Strickling, Jr. "Jim", 84

Mr. James Eugene Strickling Jr, "Jim", 84, of Duluth & Barnesville, GA, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021.

No services are planned at this time, but the family is planning on having a double funeral service in Alabama for Jim and Nadra Strickling later in the year.  Jim's wife Nadra died in November 2020.

Born on October 5, 1936, he was the son of the late James Eugene Strickling, Sr. and the late Marie Hodges Strickling.

Jim Strickling, Jr. had degrees in electrical engineering and marketing and was also a cum laude graduate in Interdisciplinary Studies (natural sciences, ancient history, philosophy). Jim worked as a N.A.S.A. contractor, a member of the AT&T technical staff and taught mathematics for fifteen years at Georgia State University.  He loved to read and study the Bible.  Jim's research and insight have led to numerous remarkable and original observations concerning earth’s mysterious history.  He was the author of  two books:

Man and His Planet
World Without End

Jim published numerous articles in professional journals such as KRONOS, Aeon, Catastrophism and Ancient History, the British Society for Interdisciplinary Studies Workshop, and the journal Genesis in Sweden.

He was a gifted teacher and opened the eyes of many students with his patience and persistence.

A PERSONAL NOTE from Jim: During the fifty-odd years of publishing my biblical studies/analyses – scientific and otherwise –

My studies/publications generally have one of two goals.

One of these is to provide an objective interpretation of some biblical passage that is typically misread and therefore misunderstood. One example of this is the biblical account of The Confusion of Tongues at The Tower of Babel.

The other goal is to scientifically analyze and demonstrate that some biblical passage regarded by skeptics as physically impossible is undeniably a legitimate interpretation of the account. I have analyzed many of these and accepted them as “exciting discoveries”. These might be regarded as affirmations of faith – certainly not a denial of God’s existence or biblical truths!

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Nadra Putman Strickling, and brother, William Jackson Strickling.

Mr. Strickling is survived by his daughter, Katrina Cherie Strickling Tobin of Barnesville, GA, and her husband Ernie; sons, James Eugene Strickling, III of Gainesville, GA, and his wife Kerri, William Allen Strickling of Colorado Springs, CO, and his wife Meighan; 7 grandchildren:  Joshua Strickling, Jarred Strickling, Aubrey Strickling, Keira Strickling, Nathan Strickling, Luke Strickling, and Juliana Strickling; brother, John Richard Strickling; and a number of other relatives.
