John Rodger Crawford

Mr. John Rodger Crawford, 86, of New Holland, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024.

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, February 29, 2024 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Clinton Howard will officiate. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Born on October 14, 1937 in Watkinsville, he was the son of Dupree and Louise McMillan Crawford. Mr. Crawford proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he was assistant Postmaster. Mr. Crawford was a member of Riverbend Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Crawford was preceded in death by his brothers, Grady (Runelle) Crawford, Junior Crawford, Gary Crawford, Mike Crawford and sisters, Betty Woodall and Mary Tanksley.

Mr. Crawford is survived by his wife, Dianne Wood Crawford of New Holland; daughter, Suzanne Crawford of S.C.; son/grandson, Scotty (Sara) Crawford of Gainesville; great grandchildren, Waylon, Conley, Blakely of Gainesville; grandchildren,  Dusty, Destiny Ladd; sister in law, Carol (O’Neal) Latty of Gainesville; brother in law, Jim (Valerie) Wood of Gainesville; brothers, Eddie (Brenda) Crawford, David (Libby) Crawford, sisters, Melinda (Hugh Lee) Bennett, Martha Crawford, Becky (Carroll) Andrews and a number of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 2150 Limestone Parkway Suite 222 Gainesville, GA 30501.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA  30504 is in charge of arrangements.
