Scotty E. Free

Scotty Ernest Free, age 61, went to be with the lord on Monday, February 26, 2024. He was born on April 7, 1962, in Gainesville GA, to Steve and LaVonne Free.

Scotty was a sucker for hot rods and red dodge trucks. Going to the mountains and eating boiled peanuts. He loved his wife, kids, grandkids and great grand child deeply. His grandkids were the light of his life.

He was a hardworking man and always took care of his family. Those that knew him knew he was real handy with wood and could build or make anything out of it. He loved to go fishing. An avid coin collector and could sort through a pile of pennies like no bodies business. But most importantly Scotty was a Christian and a firm believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Scotty is survived by his wife of 39 years Barbie Free, son Jordan Free (Stephanie), daughters Notchea Tyre (David), Magan Free (Troy) and Katie Free (Chad). His grandkids Ethan (BUG), Hayden, Autumn (twoteeroo), Lilly (Lilly Bug), Bryson, Catelyn (Gracie), Delilah (Dandelion) and Anderson (Little Tuck). His great grandchild Lorenzo Hewell. His brothers Steve III (Donna) and Rodney (Dawn), sisters Patti, Lesia (Thadd) and Kim (Scott). His great aunts Edith and Robbie Sue (Tommy). As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Proceeded in death by his son, Little Scotty; Grandson, Little Steven; Parents, Steve and LaVonne Free; Niece, Quitina Helms; Brother in law, Boyd Strickland, and Nephew Chase Gibbs.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Friday, March 1, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
