William Tipton Obituary

Mr. William Deston (Bill) Tipton, 84, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Zach Williams will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Mr. Tipton was born February 10, 1940 in Jefferson, GA to the late Sylva Tipton and Moena Tipton. He was employed as a bailiff at the Hall County Courthouse and a member of Chicopee Baptist Church. He was involved in many sports related activities including, coaching, umpiring, refereeing as well as an avid golfer. His passion was his family, who he was devoted to. He loved and participated in all areas of his children’s lives including their academic and sports activities and always welcomed their friends as if they were his. This tradition carried over when his precious grandchildren began arriving in 1984 – a man couldn’t have been more proud. Over the last 9 years he was blessed to see his great-grandchildren arrive and he treasured spending time with them as well. He spoiled everyone and was always available at a moments notice to assist with any of their needs such as scraped knees, flat tires, car wrecks, broken bones or just to give a hug, kiss or assurance of his undying love for you. He loved and served his sweet mother and had a traditional relationship with his three brothers. He loved his cousins Alma Adams, JoAnn Lyle and Judy House who were his “sisters” in heart. He worked his entire life and completed his career as a bailiff with many people he considered family and who made him happy to serve. Many, many people made an impact in his life, but he made an impact on theirs too. He loved the Lord and served diligently over the years and now rests in the arms of Jesus. He will leave a tremendous hole in our lives, but he has left a legacy that will last forever.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife Brenda, his mother, his three brothers Dean, Dennis and Denson Tipton.

Mr. Tipton is survived by daughters, Connie Tipton and Rhonda Tipton Smith, both of Flowery Branch, GA; son Todd Tipton (Gina), of Clarksville, GA, Scott Tipton (Leigh) of Braselton, GA; grandchildren, Rachel Jamison, Rebecca Spearman, Haley Smith, Rane Hoge, Storm Tipton, Breeze Sprowl, Destin Tipton, Taylor Jones; great grandchildren, Lilianna Jamison, Vivian Jones, River Hoge, Aria Tipton and Gibson Tipton. He is also survived by his special ‘sisters’ JoAnn Lyle and Judy House. A host of other relatives also survive.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2023 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA 30504 is in charge of arrangements.
